Peter T Bartels AO.
Chairman and Non-executive Director
Mr Bartels has experience in the pharmaceutical industry through previous roles with DHA Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories. He has been a major player in corporate Australia, having held the positions of CEO and Managing Director of both Coles Myer Ltd and Fosters Brewing Company Ltd. He is currently Chairman of the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Institute of Sport. He is a past Chairman of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Committee for Sport and the Women's and Children's Health Service. |

John Raff, Dip Ag Sc, BSc, PhD
Deputy Chairman and Non-executive Director
Dr Raff was Starpharma’s Chief Executive Officer from the company’s founding until July 2006, when he passed the role on to Dr Jackie Fairley. Previously, Dr Raff was General Manager of the Biomolecular Research Institute. John received a PhD from Melbourne University in 1982 for molecular biology studies on cell recognition systems, under the supervision of Professor Adrienne Clarke. He is the co-founder, director and major shareholder of a technology-based agricultural seed company, and is also founder and investor in a number of start-up technology companies. |

Jackie Fairley, BSc, BVSc (Hons), MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Dr Fairley has over 15 years' experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries working in business development and senior management roles with companies including CSL and Faulding (now Mayne Pharma). Prior to joining Starpharma as COO in 2005, she was CEO of Cerylid Biosciences Limited. During her time as CEO of Cerylid, the company generated revenues of over $20 million, raised more than $10 million private equity funding and completed the acquisition and integration of a private kinase company. Prior to joining the biotechnology sector, Dr Fairley spent 5 years as a Vice President for Faulding's injectable division where she was responsible for the group's global business development activities and injectable development program supporting product sales of > $200 million into 70 countries. She is a member of the Federal Government's Pharmaceutical Industry Working Group, and the Victorian Innovation Economy Advisory Board. |

Ross Dobinson, BBus (Acc)
Non-executive Director
Mr Dobinson has held positions as Corporate Director for two leading stockbrokers, Executive Director of the National Australia Bank's corporate advisory subsidiary, and, later, Head of the corporate advisory division of Dresdner Australia Ltd. Mr Dobinson is currently Managing Director of TSL Group Ltd, a corporate advisory company specialising in establishing and advising life science companies. He is a director of listed companies Acrux Ltd and Roc Oil Company Ltd, and is also a director of a number of unlisted companies. |

Richard A. Hazleton
Non-executive Director
Mr Hazleton is retired chairman and CEO of Dow Corning Corporation, a Michigan-based multinational producer of specialty chemicals and materials.
Mr Hazleton began his Dow Corning career in 1965. He held numerous positions in engineering, manufacturing and finance, both in the US and Europe, before becoming CEO of the company in 1993, and Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO in 1994. He retired in 2001.
Mr Hazleton has served on the Boards of the American Chemistry Council and the Chemical Bank and Trust Company (Midland, MI, US) as well as several non-profit social service agencies in Michigan and Belgium. He joined the Board of Dendritic Nanotechnologies Inc. in 2003, and served as Chairman of that Board from 2004 until the company was acquired by Starpharma in October 2006.
Hazleton holds bachelors and masters degrees in chemical engineering from Purdue University, and earned a master of business administration degree from Central Michigan University. He attended Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program in 1983. He received an honorary doctorate in commercial sciences from Central Michigan University in 1993, and in 1998 was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering from Purdue. |

Peter J Jenkins, MB, BS (Melb), FRACP
Non-executive Director
Dr Jenkins is a consultant physician and gastroenterologist at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, where he has held a number of clinical and research positions, including those in conjunction with the Baker Heart Research Institute. Dr Jenkins has served on the Victorian State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and held the position of Clinical Dean for the Monash University Faculty of Medicine. He is a foundation Director of Anadis Ltd, a listed biopharmaceutical company. |
